Earth Day Santa Barbara
Earth Day is in full swing Santa Barbara
Earth Day – History
Earth Day celebrations began almost 50 years ago. Did you know the idea for Earth day came from a U.S. Senator after witnessing the 1969 massive oil spill in our very own Santa Barbara? Earth Day was founded in 1970 to raise public consciousness about air and water pollution. Since 1970, we have made great strides in protecting our environment, however still more needs to be done. This includes using better and more secure storage for chemicals like oil so that there is less chance of devastation if something was to go wrong when transporting goods. The use of bunded storage from companies like Storemasta can assist with this and provide the equipment needed for a variety of chemicals. Protecting the Earth is a necessity so we must start from the source.
